Incense culture, as a part of traditional Chinese culture, has a very long history. It is said that the practice of burning incense for sacrificial purposes existed in ancient times. During the Shang and Zhou dynasties, people began to use fragrant plants to ward off disease and impurities. In the Song dynasty, with the development of economy and culture, the use of incense permeated all aspects of social life, and literati even elevated incense to an art form.
Incense culture was an important aspect of the Silk Road's dissemination of knowledge. It was not only an indispensable aesthetic element for literati but also a vital component of foreign economic trade. The purpose of this exhibition is to promote and disseminate knowledge of incense culture, and to foster its continuation through innovative forms, thereby calling on the public to inherit and innovate upon traditional culture.
Based on materials from the Suzhou Library's collection, the exhibition presents a blend of science and hands-on experience, documents and exhibits, and content and installations. The content includes document displays, book recommendations, science introductions, and interactive installations, showcasing the history of incense culture to visitors.

香文化作为中国传统文化中的一部分，有着非常悠久的历史。据说，上古时代就有用香燃烧祭祀的行为。商周，人们开始学会使用香味植物祛疫辟秽。宋代，随着经济文化的发展，香的使用开始遍及社会生活的各个方面，文人雅士甚至将香升华为了生活的艺术。
香文化是丝绸之路的重要传播内容之一，它不仅仅是文人雅士不可或缺的审美内容，同时也是对外经济贸易的重要内容。弘扬和传播香文化知识，并且通过创新的形式推动香文化的延续，继而呼吁广大群众对传统文化进行传承与创新，是举办本次展览的主旨。
